It added: “She was an unassuming, polite and conscientious student who exemplified the values of our school.”

Jessica died when the bus she was travelling in overturned on the M53 on Friday while on the way to West Kirby Grammar School.

Jessica’s family and her school both highlighted her sporting achievements.

She was a “talented climber”, her family said, who “helped coach younger climbers and competed around the country inspiring others”.

West Kirby Grammar School described her as a “keen sportswoman… demonstrating an unwavering love of – and commitment to – rock climbing”. She previously represented Wales in national competitions, the school added.

They also said they would work closely with her friends and family to ensure they celebrate her life this week “in the most fitting way possible”.

“Jessica will be greatly and sadly missed by her friends, teammates, classmates, and all at West Kirby Grammar School who had the pleasure and privilege to encounter her.”
